Baby Beach

OUR BEACH!!! Steps away from our ohana. Baby Beach in Lahaina has an outer reef so the beach/ocean is typically as calm as a lake. Super shallow and calm water makes for pool like water for kids/babies to play in and adults to soak in. Amazing beach for sunrise and sunset views and just relaxing under an umbrella. There are 3 entrances. We like the area of the middle entrance. You can park near Jodo Mission Temple and then go left around the corner once you hit the beach. No facilities so bring your rinse water. Give us a shout out if you are here, we will walk down and say aloha!

Oneloa (Big Beach)

Known as Big Beach and Makena State Park. Very popular beach so it will be busy but worth it to walk the long beach and watch the waves. We do not get in the water at this beach as the waves break hard into the shore here and is very dangerous. Beautiful views and waves. It is a State Park so there is an entrance fee and parking fee. No facilities so bring your rinse water and be prepared to use a porta potty.

Pa'ako Beach (Secret Cove)

Just south of Big Beach you will see a rock wall along the road. There is a small entrance in the rock wall and opens up to an incredibly beautiful little cove. This is the most popular beach for weddings on Maui. The turquoise water up agains the lava rocks and white sand, landscaped next to palm trees creates one of the most picturesque beaches on the island.

Po'olenalena Beach

Beautiful beach in South Maui. The far south (left) of the beach is great snorkeling. From the big dirt parking lot, take the trail that leads through the trees to the right and follow around the rocks. The trail will open up to separate beach that many people don't know about. One of the quieter and more gorgeous beaches in Maui. One of our favorites. No facilities so bring your water to rinse and be prepared to use a porta potty.

Kamaole Beaches

Kamaole Beach I, II and III all good for beach going, snorkeling and being in the water. Kam III (the most southern) has the big grassy area that is popular for watching sunset. Restroom and showers are available. Parking (free) fills up fast. Kam II (across from Fred's Mexican) Restroom and showers available. Only street parking so usually not much available. Kam I Grassy area across from Pizza Hut is one of our favorites for sunset or early morning yoga. North end at "Charlie Young" offers a parking lot and showers. Great to park at the most Northern end of Kam I and walk to the south end of Kam III then back.

Keawakapu Beach

Park in the Keawakapu Beach Parking #1 at the Mauna Kai Resort. You will find amazing grass under the palm trees steps away from the start of a long beach for walking (you can walk for miles). One of our favorite places to hang out on the beach (or in the grass under the palms). Showers for rinsing makes this area nice. Great snorkeling (and scuba diving) out in front of the Mauna Kai resort. Large grass area on the north side of the Kihei Surfside resort is amazing for sunsets.

Oneloa Beach

Beautiful beach and coastline in Kapalua. So much to see in this area. We love to hike the trail between Kapalua Bay and Oneloa Beach. Be sure to check out Dragon's Teeth trail for unique rock formations and picturesque coastline.

Mokuleia Beach (Slaughterhouse)

99 steps to Heaven! Secluded and epically beautiful beach in Kapalua. During the summer, this beach offers amazing snorkeling...one of our favorite dive sites. No snorkeling during the winter due to high (unsafe) surf. Parking can fill up fast so go in the morning. No facilities.

Ulua Beach

Beautiful beach in Wailea, right next to the Andaz. Park here and walk the boardwalk down to the Four Seasons. Bring your chairs and umbrella and beach it all day. Great beach for snorkeling and one of our favorite dive sites. Flush toilets and beach showers makes this location easy to spend the day. The parking lot fills up quickly especially during busy season so get there early.

Ho'okipa Beach

Surfers and Turtles! Check out North shore, just past the town of Paia. Awesome lookout to watch the local surfers. Walk down to the beach and to go farthest right end of the beach. Turtles will come up and rest on the beach here. They look like rocks in the sand! We have seen over 30 turtles on the beach here at one time (sunset is a popular time for the turtles to come up but can see them all day). Watch for an occasional Hawaiian Monk Seal on the beach (usually towards the left side of the beach).

Mala Wharf

Best dive site in Maui and in our front yard! An old concrete pier in Lahaina that the ships used back in World War II. Destroyed by storms, the wharf has fallen into the ocean creating amazing reef and swim throughs. Turtles, eels, octopus, frog fish and white tip reef shark are typically seen at this site. Great spot for snorkeling for those comfortable swimming out from shore. *Enter the ocean to the left of the pier and we recommend having booties and fins. Let us know you are coming and we will join you for a dive!

Honolua Bay

Beautiful bay to view from the overlook. Walk through the rainforest to get to the rocky beach and enjoy great snorkeling (only in the summer season). Can snorkel to the right and left side of the bay. This is one of our favorite dive sites if you can handle packing your gear in. Lot's of neat swim throughs and canyons on the left side of the bay. We often dive one way between Honolua and Mokuleia Bay. Drop your dive buddy and gear then walk back to get the car. During the winter months, it is a good place to watch the surfers.

Makena Landing

Makena Landing is good snorkel from shore and dive spot. Also known as 5 caves and 5 graves. For scuba divers, there are 5 different small shallow caves. The first cave is know as the shark cave where the white tip reef sharks like to hang out. This area is great spot to see turtles, eels, octopus, rays, frog fish and different Hawaiian fish species. Very small beach. Small grass area for those who may not want to get in the water. Nice restrooms and public beach showers. Get there early to get a parking spot.
